5. August 2025 <\/em>– Er war nur Eingeweihten ein Begriff, und dennoch z\u00e4hlt er zu den Gro\u00dfen seiner Zunft: Der Autodesigner Ercole Spada ist gestern im Alter von 87 Jahren gestorben. Nach einer technischen Ausbildung wandte er sich seinem Traum zu: Autos zu zeichnen. 1960 stieg er beim Karossier Zagato ein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dort war er verantwortlich f\u00fcr einige der extravagantesten Fahrzeuge,<\/strong> die je gebaut wurden \u2013 darunter den Alfa Romeo Giulia Tubolare, den Junior Z und die Lancia-Typen Flavia Sport und Fulvia Sport. Nach einer Station bei der Ford-Designschmiede Ghia und einem Intermezzo bei Audi kam er zu BMW, wo er unter anderem f\u00fcr die 5er- und 7er-Baureihen der 80er-Jahre verantwortlich war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anschlie\u00dfend ging Ercole Spada zum I.DE.A Institute<\/strong>, einer der bedeutendsten Designfirmen der 80er- und 90er-Jahre. Seine Entw\u00fcrfe gingen im Fiat-Konzern reihenweise in Serie: Tipo und Tempra, Lancia Dedra und die zweite Delta-Generation sowie der Alfa Romeo 155. Doch auch der Nissan Terrano II und der erste Daihatsu Move waren Spada-Entw\u00fcrfe. Dann wandte er sich exklusiven Sonderanfertigungen zu; er zeichnete den OSCA 2500 GT Dromos auf Touring-Superleggera-Chassis und die Codatronca-Typen mit Corvette-Technik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spadas Stil<\/strong> war oft gekennzeichnet durch ungew\u00f6hnliche, unerwartete Elemente, eine \u00dcberwindung des Konventionellen. Und doch, so Ex-Mini-Chefdesigner Gert Hildebrand,<\/strong> hat der im pers\u00f6nlichen Umgang bescheidene Spada mit dem BMW 5er der Baureihe E34 eines der perfektesten und zur\u00fcckhaltendsten Designs \u00fcberhaupt geliefert: \u201eDieses Auto war aus meiner Sicht sein Meisterst\u00fcck, eine deutsche Umsetzung italienischer Inspiration.\u201c<\/em><\/strong> Zuletzt arbeitete Spada mit seinem Sohn Paulo in der Firma Spadaconcept an Fahrzeugkonzepten f\u00fcr die Zukunft.
