Yamaha Motor und Yamaha Marine fuehren ein neues Verbundmaterial ein: High\u2011Cycle SMC, entwickelt gemeinsam mit Japan Composite. Das Material ermoeglicht eine 20 Prozent kuerzere Formzykluszeit bei den Cowlings der Aussenborder bis 40 PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seit 2025 kommt High\u2011Cycle SMC<\/strong> bereits in der Produktion der Powerhead\u2011Cowlings zum Einsatz. Der Vorteil liegt in einer geringeren Waermeenergie beim Formprozess, was den Energieverbrauch senkt und die CO\u2082\u2011Emissionen um rund 20 Prozent reduziert. Herkoemmliche SMC\u2011Materialien benoetigen deutlich mehr thermische Energie; der neue Werkstoff reduziert diesen Bedarf spuerbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Projekt ist Teil des Yamaha Motor Group Environmental Plan 2050<\/strong>, der eine klimaneutrale Lieferkette zum Ziel hat. Fuer Scope\u20111\u2011 und Scope\u20112\u2011Emissionen strebt Yamaha bereits bis 2035 Klimaneutralitaet an und beschleunigt entsprechende Massnahmen in der Fertigung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuer Nutzerinnen und Nutzer aendert sich<\/strong> an der Qualitaet der Cowlings nichts: High\u2011Cycle SMC bleibt lackierbar, robust und Yamaha\u2011konform. Die Neuerung betrifft vor allem die Produktion \u2013 mit positiven Auswirkungen auf Nachhaltigkeit und die Verfuegbarkeit kuenftiger Modelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
